Reforestation and Conservation: We Need Both to Create a Greener World
When One Tree Planted was founded in 2014, our primary goal was to make it easier for people and businesses to give back to nature. Since then, we’ve partnered with a variety of companies from individual makers to large organizations, all of whom believe that we can all play a role in keeping our world healthy and green for future generations – especially when doing so is as simple as planting trees.
In 2017, we began working with the Friends of the National Parks Foundation on a pretty big reforestation project: planting 70K trees in Bali and Kalmantan, Indonesia. The trees will be planted over the course of a year, in several regions, so today we're sharing an update on how things are progressing.

In the case of this story, we are blown away by just how thoughtfully and successfully a group of teachers and kids carried out a fundraising effort that raised over $1,000 for One Tree Planted!

It’s a model of land management that integrates the unique relationships within a given ecosystem, and offers benefits on many fronts – environmental, economic, and/or social.
There’s nothing more hopeful and inspiring than seeing kids and young adults get excited about making a positive difference for their environment. After all, it is future generations who will experience the greatest impact of both deforestation and reforestation.
